Terms and Conditions

1. Permission for medical treatment

In the event of an accident or illness involving my child while at class, I agree to allow the staff of Childhood Island to seek and/or provide necessary medical attention.

2. Permission to take photos and videos

Occasionally, Childhood Island will take pictures or videos of classes or concerts to be used in course marketing materials such as websites, posters, brochures, etc. All photos and videos are owned by Childhood Island and cannot be used to advertise other businesses without written permission from Childhood Island.

3. On-time pick-up and drop-off are expected

Parents are required to comply with the on-time pick-up/drop-off policy. If someone other than a parent is picking up your child(ren), you must notify Childhood Island in advance. The person picking up your child(ren) must present a photo identification. A late fee of fifteen dollars ($15) will be applied after a 15-minutes grace period.

4. Missed classes

Please make an effort to attend all classes. There will be no refunds for sick days or missed classes due to vacations. If classes are cancelled by Childhood Island, make ups will be provided, no refunds.

5. Payment

  • Paying with e-transfer: E-transfers should be sent to info@childhoodisland.ca. E-transfer payments must be received by the first day of each month (e.g., by September 1, October 1, November 1, etc.).

  • All payments must be made on time.

6. Terminating study

If you wish to discontinue attending Childhood Island for any reason, you must notify us in writing (via email) and obtain written confirmation from us. Termination will take effect in the following month. All fees due for the notice month must be paid in full. For instance, if you receive our confirmation in October, your October fees will not be refunded and must be paid in full.

7. Expulsion

Childhood Island reserves the right to dismiss student(s) from course at any time, at its sole discretion.

8. Policy changes

Childhood Island reserves the right to modify its policies and prices at any time. An announcement email will be sent to all parents. If you have any concerns regarding our new policies or prices, you must notify us in writing; otherwise, we will assume your acceptance.

9. Damage to Childhood Island property, facilities, equipment

Your child must use our property, facilities, and equipment with care. Childhood Island reserves the right to invoice you, as the accountable parent/guardian, for property damage caused by a careless act by your child, for amounts up to $1,000.

10. Availability

Submitting the Childhood Island registration form does not guarantee you a spot in a class. It is the first mandatory step for us to assign your child to a class. Always contact Childhood Island to confirm availability. We operate on a first-come, first-served principle. If you do not attend on your first day of classses (and do not notify us by calling directly), your spot may be reassigned. Your spot is guaranteed only when your monthly fees are paid in full.
